Manufacturing a wide range of electronic products and sub-assemblies for clients.
My work initially involved production testing a wide variety of circuits such as high quality audio systems, avionics, medical equipment, anti-theft devices,
MPEG video recorders and surface-roughness measuring devices.
My ability to analyze electronic faults to component level allowed me to immediately begin repairing faulty stock and so increase production yields. I designed apparatus to test several new products and also helped improve the design of several products. I wrote code in Borland C that automated some of the test procedures and I worked with a colleague to develop some sophisticated software that controlled an expensive laser trimming machine.
I trained and supervised several colleagues so they could assist with product testing and also trained my replacement and documented the test procedures before I moved on to DAR.
At Radamec I was pro-active in learning and applying several quality management methods such as
poka-yoke and root cause analysis (being careful not to upset any production staff) which improved manufacturing quality as well as staff moral.
